Lethbridge College's rookie sensation, Sophia Nowicki, completed a season to remember by winning four medals at the ACAC indoor track championships. Her medal haul was part of a total of six medals won by Kodiaks athletes at the meet held by MacEwan University in Edmonton on Friday and Saturday.
The Kodiaks are on the prowl for gold this weekend. Lethbridge College’s indoor track and futsal teams will both compete in Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) championship tournaments.
Riding standout weekends, Carter Hansen (MVB) and Sophia Nowicki (IT) have been named the Kodiaks Moxie's Athletes of the Week.
The Kodiaks indoor track team had another successful meet in Calgary on Saturday, taking home six medals and third place team overall.
The Kodiaks are joining forces with the ACAC and the conference’s other 16 member institutions to Make Some Noise for Mental Health this weekend. A conference-wide awareness campaign to break stigmas around mental health, the initiative involves student-athletes to encourage empathy, understanding and open-mindedness while promoting resources and support available on campuses and in their communities.
Kayla Enders (two silver medals, first place individual at ACAC Grand Prix #1) and Sini Atoa (20 pts, 8 reb vs MHC on Friday) have been named the Moxie's Athletes of the Week!
