Kodiaks Women’s Soccer adds local full-back to roster
Kodiaks women’s soccer has added another top performer from the LFC to their team with the signing of full-back Makayli Rogers for the 2026-27 season.
The Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks women’s soccer has added another top performer from the Lethbridge Football Club to their team with the signing of full-back Makayli Rogers for the 2026-27 season.
Rogers made a strong first impression on Head Coach Mike Racz at one of the team’s ID camps last summer, after first connecting with the program through their open training sessions. Racz says her energy and determination helped her stand out on the field.
“She is comfortable operating in wide areas and has the ability to create attacking opportunities through her service into the box, while also recognizing and taking advantage of space in wide positions.”
He adds he sees Rogers continuing to refine her attacking decision-making and technical consistency and the competitive training environment will help her confidence in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC).
“I expect Makayli to contribute to our attacking depth and provide another strong option in wide areas.”
Racz also noted that Rogers is a hard-working player who brings energy to the field and has already demonstrated a willingness to compete and improve within the program.
The Kodiaks also made a good first impression on Rogers, making her feel welcome and excited to join the team.
Rogers says she decided to join the Kodiaks to continue to play soccer, while staying close to family and friends. She adds that she’s excited to have the opportunity to play on a field she’s familiar with.
“I just wanted to continue playing soccer and it’s local, so I wanted to play here.”
Having grown up in Lethbridge, Rogers has attended several Kodiaks home games and is looking forward to competing in a setting she already knows well.
She describes her style of play as composed and team-oriented, with a focus on ball movement and creating opportunities through passing and movement in wide areas.
She will be attending the General Arts and Science Program in the fall to obtain the pre-requisites for her intended path in dental hygiene.
Racz says it’s always exciting to add local talent to the roster and the signing of local recruits helps put Lethbridge’s soccer development on the map. “Makayli represents the strength of the soccer pathway in Lethbridge and bringing in players like her highlights the quality of the development system we have in our community.”
