The Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks men’s soccer team has signed dynamic local athlete Noah Young.
Young, who recently graduated from Catholic Central High School, comes to the Kodiaks from the Lethbridge Football Club and the Kootenay Rovers, where he stood out as a top goal scorer. His versatile talent has allowed him to excel as both a striker and an attacking midfielder.
“Noah is a dynamic player who can play either as an out-and-out forward or in behind as an attacking midfielder,” says Kodiaks head coach Mike Racz. “He’s very good at attacking space, both in front of and behind the opposition’s backline.”
Growing up in Lethbridge, Young says he has attended Kodiaks soccer games for years. He says he is excited to join the program as it feels like a familiar space for him, though his biggest reason for joining the team was getting to play for Racz.
“Coach Mike [Racz] was honestly a big influence on [my decision to join] the Kodiaks men’s soccer program,” says Young. “He’s a good coach and I've known him for a very long time, so I'm excited to play for him.”
Racz shares a similar excitement about Young being part of the team, saying he is a great addition to the program.
“He has the right mindset, strong local roots and the tools to succeed at this level,” he says. “I’m looking forward to seeing what he accomplishes in a Kodiaks jersey.”
Young has enrolled in the polytechnic’s Environmental Assessment and Restoration program.
