Kodiaks men’s soccer adds experienced striker to roster

The Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks men’s soccer team has bolstered its attack with the addition of striker Alex Moroszczuk, a physical presence with Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) experience.
Moroszczuk joins the Kodiaks after playing last year for the NAIT Ooks. The move brings a valuable mix of size, skill and league familiarity to a young Kodiaks squad preparing for a new chapter under head coach Mike Racz.
“He’s a big, strong forward who is going to allow us to play through him when we’re attacking,” says Racz. “He opens up opportunities for us to hold up the ball and let us play off of him as we go forward.”
Moroszczuk, a graduate of Mother Margaret Mary Catholic High School in Edmonton has committed to the electrical apprentice program at Lethbridge Polytechnic. After attending an identification camp, he knew Lethbridge was the right fit.
“I’m excited to be a part of the Kodiaks family,” says the six-foot-three Moroszczuk. “I’m looking forward to contributing on the field, helping the team push forward, and just getting the chance to play.”
Racz says he’s eager to see how Moroszczuk’s previous ACAC experience and physical presence translate into this year’s team dynamic.
“I’m excited to sign a player who already has experience in the ACAC,” Racz says. “He knows what this level is about, and I’m really looking forward to working with him this season.”
Kodiaks coaches actively recruit high school athletes around Alberta and neighbouring provinces. If one of the Kodiaks coaches hasn’t spoken to you yet, don’t worry. Simply fill out the recruitment form (gokodiaks.ca/recruitment), and they would be pleased to learn more about you.
