The Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks women’s soccer team put in a strong performance on the road, earning a 1–1 draw against the Ambrose University Lions on Saturday. After a scoreless first half, the Kodiaks struck early in the second when Kenley Matishak (third year, Practical Nurse, Calgary) found the back of the net in the 51st minute with an unassisted goal to give Lethbridge the lead. Ambrose responded quickly, but the Kodiaks continued to control much of the play, generating an impressive 33 total shots and 11 corner kicks. Goalkeeper Kiara Jankowiak (third year, General Arts and Science, Lethbridge) was steady between the posts, making seven saves to preserve the point, while the Lethbridge attack kept constant pressure on the Lions’ defense. With their offensive push and resilient defensive effort, the Kodiaks showed plenty of promise as the game came to an end.

The Kodiaks men’s soccer team battled to a scoreless draw on the road against the Ambrose University Lions on Saturday, at Hauk Field in Calgary. The Kodiaks showed resilience throughout the match, with goalkeeper Adam Krisko (second year, General Arts and Science, Lethbridge) delivering a standout performance by making eight key saves to secure the shutout. Lethbridge generated quality chances of their own, firing 13 shots and pushing forward with three second-half corner kicks as they pressed for a breakthrough. The backline, including Cristobal Jacob Pares (first year, Civil Engineering Technology, Nelson, B.C.), held strong under late pressure, and the team’s collective defensive effort ensured the Kodiaks a well-earned result away from home.
