Lethbridge Polytechnic athletics director appointed to national volleyball role
Lethbridge Polytechnic’s Director of Athletics and Recreation Services, Todd Caughlin, has been appointed a leadership role within the CCAA.
Lethbridge Polytechnic’s Director of Athletics and Recreation Services, Todd Caughlin, has been appointed a leadership role within the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). Caughlin officially began his first term as CCAA national convenor for men’s volleyball.
In this national position, Caughlin will be responsible for overseeing the administration and development of men’s volleyball across Canada at the collegiate level. His role includes supporting event operations, guiding future championship hosts, collaborating with national stakeholders and ensuring the consistent application of sport-specific rules and procedures throughout the season and at national events.
Caughlin brings a wealth of volleyball experience to the position. A former student-athlete in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference, he competed in men’s volleyball at both Lethbridge Polytechnic and Red Deer Polytechnic. He went on to coach at the collegiate level in the CCAA and spent several years coaching volleyball in the National Collegiate Athletic Association in the United States.
“It’s very wild to truly come full circle in the sport that opened doors and led me to where I am today,” says Caughlin. “It’s a true honour to be asked to fill this position and I look forward to facing the challenges that lie ahead.”
Since joining Lethbridge Polytechnic as athletics director in 2014, Caughlin has helped elevate the Kodiaks to national prominence while fostering a culture of academic and athletic excellence. His leadership has been instrumental in building a strong, student-centred athletic program recognized across Canada.
