Austin and Hosannah Canadian Brewhouse Kodiaks student-athletes of the week

Robyn Austin (second year, Business Administration, Lethbridge) of the women’s volleyball team delivered a strong weekend of leadership and consistency as the Kodiaks battled two nationally ranked opponents. She opened the series against No. 4 nationally ranked UAA with five kills, five digs, and five points, providing steady play in both the front and back court to keep the Kodiaks competitive throughout the match. Austin followed that effort with a standout performance versus No. 6 nationally ranked NAIT, finishing with 10 kills, five digs, 11 points, and a service ace, earning Player of the Match honours. Her reliability, calm presence, and on-court leadership continue to anchor the Kodiaks, proving vital as they navigate one of the toughest stretches of their schedule.

Nathaniel Hosannah (second year, Business Administration, Tacoma, Washington) of the men’s basketball team delivered a dominant weekend, driving the Kodiaks to back-to-back wins heading into the break. He opened the series with 28 points, six rebounds, and six steals in an 87–76 win over UAA, energizing the Val Matteotti Gym with several momentum-shifting dunks and steady two-way play as he earned Player of the Game. Hosannah followed up with 24 points, 11 rebounds, three steals, and a block against No. 8 nationally ranked NAIT, guiding the Kodiaks through adversity while key players were sidelined. Across the two games he averaged 26 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 4.5 steals per contest, with his relentless energy and emerging leadership proving central to the team’s success and continued rise in the standings.
