Wells-Creighton and Balderson Canadian Brewhouse Kodiaks student-athletes of the week

Chase Wells-Creighton (second year, Exercise Science, Standoff) of the women’s basketball team has earned back-to-back Kodiaks Athlete of the Week honours thanks to her exceptional leadership and high-impact play. She was instrumental in securing two weekend victories, providing steady composure and all-around production in both matchups. Against Lakeland, she set the tone with eight points, six rebounds, and three steals, helping the Kodiaks control the pace defensively and offensively. She then delivered a standout performance in Saturday’s upset over Keyano, erupting for 23 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and an impressive nine steals to earn ACAC Player of the Game recognition. Her ability to rise in key moments, make plays on both ends of the court, and guide the team with confidence was central to the Kodiaks’ success and continues to cement her role as a trusted leader on the roster.

Levi Balderson (second year, General Arts and Science, Welling) of the men’s basketball team delivered a standout weekend, showcasing his scoring ability and on-court composure as the Kodiaks split their home series. In Friday’s matchup against Lakeland, he kept the offence steady with 16 points, knocking down four threes while adding two steals, one assist and a block. He elevated his performance even further on Saturday in a thrilling upset over the nationally No. seven ranked Keyano Huskies, erupting for 31 points on 8–12 shooting from beyond the arc while contributing four rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Balderson’s explosive scoring and timely shot-making earned him Player of the Game honours and played a pivotal role in securing one of the Kodiaks’ biggest wins of the season.
