Summer Long (first year, General Arts and Science, Raymond, Alberta) made a major impact for the Kodiaks women’s basketball team this weekend, stepping up in a big way when her team needed it most. Long embraced an expanded role, taking on extra minutes and increased defensive pressure while still delivering back-to-back standout performances. She tallied 19 points and five rebounds on Friday, then followed it up with a dominant 22-point, 11-rebound, three-steal effort on Saturday. Her poise and versatility were key in both contests, helping the Kodiaks get their first win of the season and proving that the first-year guard can thrive under pressure.

Cameron Marshall (third year, Criminal Justice Policing, Adelaide, South Australia) continued his strong form for the Kodiaks men’s volleyball team, earning Player of the Game honours in Friday’s match following a dominant offensive performance. Marshall posted 14 kills with just two errors on 16 attempts and added an ace to lead the Kodiaks’ attack. He followed that up with an even more efficient outing on Saturday, recording 13 kills on 15 attempts with no errors and contributing two aces. His consistency and power at the net have been instrumental in the team’s success, helping the Kodiaks extend their undefeated streak to 3-0. Marshall now ranks fourth in the conference with 3.56 kills per set, showcasing his reliability as one of the ACAC’s most efficient and dynamic hitters.
