Abigail Leusink (third year, Open Studies, Picture Butte, Alta.) played a key role in the Kodiaks women’s futsal team’s dominant 11–1 victory over the Ambrose Lions, delivering a strong two-way performance in the statement road win. Leusink found the scoresheet twice during the Kodiaks’ offensive outburst, finishing confidently in the attacking third while consistently creating pressure with her movement and positioning. Beyond her contributions up front, she made a significant impact defensively, tracking back effectively and helping limit the Lions to a single late goal. Her ability to influence the game on both sides of the ball and maintain a high work rate from start to finish earned Leusink ACAC Player of the Game honours.
Ben Dyck (third year, Agricultural Sciences, Coaldale, Alta.) delivered a standout performance at the ACAC Men’s Volleyball Championships, leading the entire tournament with 59 kills over three matches as he powered the Kodiaks to a historic bronze medal finish. The left side was instrumental in a thrilling five-set quarterfinal upset on night one, producing in key moments as Lethbridge rallied from two sets down to complete the reverse sweep and advance. He continued to lead from the front for the remainder of the championship, battling against elite competition and once again rising to the occasion in the bronze medal match to help secure a podium finish. Dyck ranked fourth overall in service aces and added 17 digs, demonstrating his all-around impact on both sides of the ball. His ability to terminate in high-pressure situations and provide a consistent scoring option earned him not only a Player of the Game but also a tournament All-Star selection.
