Hallee Pilling (third year, Exercise Science, Cardston) delivered a standout performance in her first ACAC meet of the 2026 indoor track season at the Running Room Grand Prix held at the Kinsmen Sports Centre in Edmonton. This meet served as the teams’ only opportunity to compete on the track that will host the ACAC Championships and she made the most of the preview. She competed in four events earning third place in the 50m dash with a time of 7.29 and third place in the 300m with a time of 44.8. Pilling also played a key role in the relay events helping the 4x200m team capture first place with a time of 1:52.47 and the 4x400m relay secure another win in 4:22.53. Her strong performances helped propel her team to a first-place overall finish in the final standings of the season opening meet.
Jackson Wright (third year, Business Administration, Claresholm, Alta.) was a key contributor for the men’s basketball team during a back-to-back series against the Briercrest Clippers, helping the Kodiaks earn a weekend split. Wright provided a strong interior presence in Friday’s 84–65 upset win, recording a double-double with 13 points and a career-high 13 rebounds while adding three assists and shooting 6-of-11 from the field in 25 minutes. He followed that effort with a career-high 21 points in Saturday’s 92–82 loss, along with nine rebounds, four assists, and a steal in 28 minutes of play, earning ACAC Player of the Game honours. His consistent post play and efficiency were instrumental in the Kodiaks’ performance across the weekend.
