Oct. 26, 2018 - Wilson Ntignee scored once to tie the game, twice to take the lead and third time to ice the win.
The speedy striker scored three times, as he led his Lethbridge College Kodiaks men's soccer team to a 3-1 victory over the King's University Eagles in their Friday afternoon Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Men's Soccer Championship quarter-final contest played at SAIT's Cohos Commons Field.
Lethbridge College now moves to Saturday's semifinal against the NAIT Ooks, who earned a bye by finishing first in the North Division.
It was the Eagles who got on the board first in the 7th minute when Daniel Perrault scored on what appeared to be some miscommunication by the Kodiaks.
That lead stayed with the Eagles until halftime.
After that, it was all Ntignee.
He scored in the 52nd minute, and then again in the 65th minute on a penalty kick. He scored his third of the game in the 78th minute and put a little extra on the celebration with a backflip.
Ntignee was named his team's Player of the Game. Dorian Jacobs took the honour for the Eagles.
With the win, both men's and women's Kodiaks soccer teams advance to the semifinals in the same season for the first time ever.
The Kodiaks women take on SAIT at 9:30 a.m., while the men take on the Ooks at 4 p.m. Both games can be streamed live on ACACTV.ca (small fee applies).
