Nov. 20, 2018 - The Kodiaks basketball teams secured a pair of big wins over Briercrest on Saturday, and they were led by big two-way efforts from Lincoln Anderson and Amy Berryman. The pair have been named the Mucho Burrito Kodiaks Athletes of the Week for their performances!
Lincoln Anderson - MBB
Lincoln played a huge role in a comeback win at Briercrest on Saturday. He poured in 26 points, including 14 in the third quarter, and also recorded a double-double by bringing down 18 rebounds.
The second-year Phys Ed & Leadership student-athlete is a Cardston native whose leadership skills are rapidly emerging as he gets familiar with ACAC competition. He is averaging 20.6 points per game, 11.9 rebounds per game and over four assists per game too.
Amy Berryman - WBB
Amy helped facilitate an early comeback for the Kodiaks in a tight 66-64 win over Briercrest on Saturday. She was solid on the defensive end after the team got off to a slow start.
She ended with eight points, six rebounds and three steals. She was also a key factor in distributing the ball on the offensive end, helping the Kodiaks offensive effort. She will now look to help her team defeat Red Deer next Saturday night.
The Kodiaks are set to host their inaugural Alumni Weekend this Friday and Saturday. Volleyball takes the stage on Friday night, with the Kodiaks taking on Olds College. The Kodiaks and Broncos will play a rematch Saturday afternoon before Kodiaks basketball hosts Red Deer on Saturday night.
All admission is by donation towards Kodiaks athletic scholarships. Kodiaks alumni are invited for a special pre-game celebration starting at 5 p.m. each night.
